She was born Saturday, November 14, 1942 in Frederick, MD, the daughter of the late Harry Wilson and Rosalie (Biddinger) and Harry Wilson Smith, Sr. Before her retirement, she worked for ten years as a cashier for McDonalds in Frederick. She was a member of Salvation Army in Chambersburg.
