Patricia Jean Boyd January 14, 1932 – April 21, 2018 – 86 years old Patricia (Patsy) J. Boyd was born and raised in Lewistown, MT. Her parents were Stephen and Thelma Gretencort. Patsy had one older sister, Margaret Ann.

When Patsy and her family moved to Colorado they lived in the famous Brown Palace Hotel for almost a month before settling in the Denver area. Her family then moved to Florence, Colorado where her father was the Regional Production Manager for Ideal Cement Company. She graduated from Florence High School in 1950 and went on to nursing school.

Patsy, before she could finish nursing school, got married and began a family. She had four children, Cinthia, Steven, Robert and Kimberly. Patsy devoted her life to her children.

Later in life Patsy was remarried to Thomas Boyd. Tom and Patsy were married for 37 years until Tom’s passing in 2010. Tom and Patsy led a life filled with travel.

They spent the majority of their weekends traveling from one rodeo to the next with Robert and Kim. Their travels took them from South Dakota to Arizona and from Nevada to Missouri and everywhere in between. Patsy could often be seen, but mostly heard, cheering loudly for her children that were participating in many youth activities from Little League to Pee Wee Football to rodeo.

When her children went off to college her travels didn’t end. Tom and Patsy bought a 100 year old, authentic, covered wagon, along with a team of mules to pull the wagon. They traveled to many of the Southeastern states to participate in wagon train rides.

This was also a time in her life when she was able to focus on her four beloved grandchildren. It was the “Patsy Taxi”, hauling her grandkids everywhere from football, basketball, rodeo’s, tae kwon do and soccer. She never turned them down!

Patsy was always a “people person”. She loved to talk and always had a story to tell and a meal to offer. Cooking was one of her passions.

She was known for her homemade buttermilk pancakes, waffles and cheesecake. The phrase “shop till ya’ drop” was the perfect way to describe her love for shopping. Patsy enjoyed making people happy.

Gift giving was her way of showing others how much she loved and appreciated them. Some of Patsy’s favorite things were bright colored flowers and beautiful sunsets. Frappuccino’s and ice cream!

She enjoyed camping in the mountains and all the wildlife that came with it. Patsy is survived by her four children, Cindi DeAngelo, (Dave Patterson) Breckenridge, CO, Steven DeAngelo, Aurora, CO, Robert DeAngelo (Carrie) Calhan, CO and Kim Baum (Tim), Elizabeth, CO, as well as her four beloved grandchildren, Shane, Scott, Emily and Dalton. Services to celebrate Patsy’s life will be held May 1st, 10am at the Son Country Community Church, 7114 Sun Country Dr., Elizabeth, CO 80107.
