Obituary for Patricia J Nye Patricia J. “Patty” Nye age 90, of Columbus, passed away peacefully January 5, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Patty was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 3, 1928. She was a life long area resident of Columbus.

Patty is preceded in death by her: husband, Richard Nye; parents, Cline Harrel and Mildred (Dye) Harrel; sons, Michael (Lou Ann) Nye and Steven (Sandy) Nye; brother, Jim Harrel; and sister, Marlene (Harrel) Anderson. Patty is survived by: grandchildren, Craig (Mollie) Nye, Brandon (Kristy) Nye, and Tiffany (Matthew) Allyn; great grandchildren, Jacob Kasey, Dylan Nye, Nicholas Allyn, and Mackenzie Allyn. Patty was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend.

First and foremost was the time she spent with her family by celebrating holidays, traveling together on vacations to the beach, playing cards, and attending the sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being surrounded by laughter and happiness and brought joy to everyone she met. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Riverside Methodist Hospital.

The care, compassion, and empathy shown to Patty and her family as she left this world was a comfort to all. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM January 12, 2019 at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL with Reverend Tim Swanson officiating. Family will receive friends on January 12, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
