Patricia L. (nee Simonette) Newell, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into her eternal home on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Niagara Hospice House. Born on March 17, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ilario and Leola (Watson) Simonette. Pat, as she was known to family and friends attended Niagara Falls High School and as a teenager began her career working at the Air Base.

She then moved to North Carolina, where she attended Piedmont College and worked for HK Porter Southern Asbestos and came back to Niagara Falls in 1976. Locally, Pat was employed by the former Everybody’s Florist and retired from OTB, following 20 years of service. She had a passion for all animals and enjoyed cooking for others, making clothing and doll houses and gardening.

Pat is survived by her son, Richard D. Newell, Jr.; a grandchild, Sassy; sisters, Christine Paulk and Barbara (late Zeb) Pike and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Newell; her longtime companion for over 30 years, Pasquale “Patsy” LaGatta; her former spouse, Richard D. Newell, Sr. and siblings, Joseph Simonette, Leola May Golding, Lawrence Simonette and Sylvia Wolfe. All services will be privately held with Pat’s family.
