OBITUARY Patricia “Pat” J. Johnson June 3, 1939 – July 14, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Patricia “Pat” J. Johnson (Hoagburg) went to her heavenly home on Saturday July 14, 2018, surrounded by loving family and friends. Born June 3, 1939, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Pat was the youngest daughter of Gustave and Edith Hoagburg. She was employed with East Allen County Schools in the cafeteria of Village Elementary and Prince Chapman where she would have started her 29th year this August.

Pat’s first love and passion was her family. Her true calling was being mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, sister and friend. She was always available to anyone in need.

She enjoyed life and lived every day with pure joy. Pat’s interests were many. She loved holidays and would decorate her house for many of them.

Holidays were also a time for family gatherings when her house was filled with laughter, games, and most of all, love for each other. Whether visiting wineries, casinos, or attending family activities, Pat was always enjoying herself and encouraging others to be a part of the fun. Her spiritual roots ran deep as well, leaving no doubt of her place in heaven.

Pat was a true mom. Not just to her children, but also to several family members and many others who learned the importance of family by her example. Remaining to carry on her legacy of family and love are her sons, David (Mary) Woods, John (Ronda) Woods and Christopher (Patsy) Johnson; daughter Karen Shiflett, daughters of the heart Diana Furrow and Teresa White-McDonald; and brother Frank; 11 grandchildren: John II (DaLonna), Joshua (Myra), Heather (Billy), Andrew, Megan (Phillip), Miranda (Rik), Holly (Chris), Daniel (Kara), Brittney, Jazlyn and Jaci; granddaughter of the heart, Keyona; 15 great grandchildren: J.D., Trey, Shelby, Gracie, Isabella, Camdyn, Milas, Gus, Reece, Daelee, Daycian, Hollistyr, Annistyn, Ryder, and Atticus.

She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and other family members and close friends. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Chad; sisters Marguerite, Ola, Marie, and Elizabeth; and brothers Wallace and Eugene. Though we can no longer touch you, we will feel you in our hearts forever.

Funeral service will be Friday, July 20, 2018, at 11:00 am at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home (6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819) with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the funeral home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Wayne SPCA or Southern Care Hospice.
