Mrs. Patricia Stewart January 14, 1945 – February 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Patricia Stewart, a resident of Bella Vista, Arkansas, was peacefully called home to be with her eternal Father on Monday, February 25, 2019, at the age of 74. She was born to Hubert Gerald Carter and Dorothy Sipes Carter, on January 14, 1945, in Texarkana, Texas. Patricia received her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, with a major in English, from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, formerly known as Henderson State Teachers’ College.

Patricia was married to Keith Stewart of Mena, Arkansas, on December 19, 1971. Patricia taught English and was the Librarian for the Cale Public School District, which later merged with other rural districts to form Nevada Public Schools. Patricia retired from teaching in 2007, having served 40 years as an Arkansas educator.

In addition to teaching in Arkansas public schools, Patricia taught numerous Sunday School classes at the Prescott Church of Christ and the Northside Church of Christ in Mena. She is survived by her sister, Lucy Jones, her brother-in-law, Thomas Jones, and her niece, Paula Jones, all of Bella Vista, Arkansas. Other close family members include sister-in-law, Janice Carter, of Yukon, Oklahoma, and nieces and cousins in Oklahoma City and Hooks, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her brother, Buddy Carter; and her mother and father. A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at the Prescott Church of Christ in Prescott, Arkansas, and at the Northside Church of Christ in Mena, Arkansas. Arrangements are facilitated by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
