Obituary for Patrick Michael “Pat” Cargol Patrick Michael “Pat” Cargol, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the age of 64. He was born on December 2, 1953 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Harold Leonard and Anna Woods Cargol and remained a lifelong resident of the area. Pat graduated from West Jefferson High School and continued his education at Nicholls State University where he graduated with a BS in Business in 1974.
In that same year Pat married Christine Miller, the smartest move he ever made. Pat spent his entire career in the oil and gas industry representing numerous companies including Gulf Oil, NL Acme, Whiting Oilfield Rentals, Weatherford and Wild Well Control until his retirement in 2017. During his career he was active in numerous industry organizations and served on the board of directors for the New Orleans Oilman’s Tennis Tournament, New Orleans Oilman’s Bowling Tournament and Westbank Oilman’s Invitational.
In his free time, he was an avid golfer and found great joy in beating the little white ball across the grass with his group of close friends. Although an accomplished businessman and golfer, Pat was not defined by either of those things, but rather by the mark he left on the hearts of everyone he came into contact with. Pat was a loyal friend, revered leader, mentor to many, and the most loving and supportive Patriarch any family could ever ask for.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Anna. He is survived by his wife Christine, his brother Harold Cargol, brother Owen Cargol, sister Kathy Cargol, his children Mike and Nikki Cargol of The Woodlands, Texas; Joey and Katie Cargol of Gretna, Louisiana; Jon and Christy McGill of Gretna, Louisiana; his grandchildren Kaitlyn Cargol, Christian Cargol, Colin Cargol, Madeline Graff, Macy Graff, Joey Cargol, Garrett Cargol, Patrick Cargol, Nellie Cargol and Jon McGill. Friends are cordially invited to a Visitation with the family from 1:30 PM until 3:30PM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in the grand foyer of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd.
, Marrero, Louisiana, where a Christian service for Pat will commence at 3:30 PM in the Chapel.
