Patrick Michaud, 94, of Biddeford, died Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough. He was born June 18, 1924 in Eagle Lake, a son of Octave and Emelia (LaFerriere) Michaud and was educated in Eagle Lake schools and came to Biddeford in 1942. On February 6, 1943 he married Pearl Levesque Patrick served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Wounded 4 times, he received the Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters, a Bronze Star along with other medals and ribbons. Patrick was very proud of his military service and was very grateful for the all-expenses paid trip to Washington, DC, which honors military veteran’s through the generous support of Honor Flight Maine. He worked for 13 years at the Saco-Lowell Shops and then as a planner at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 25 years, retiring in 1984.

He was a member of the York County Fish and Game Club, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Biddeford Senior Citizens, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Patrick enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting and fishing. Patrick was predeceased by Pearl Michaud his wife of 62 years, in 2005, his son SSGT Donald Michaud in 1978, and Granddaughter Yuni Michaud He was also preceded in death by Brothers: Gilbert, Gordon, Herbert, Louis, and Edgar.

Portland Brother: Roosevelt Michaud of Saco Sisters: Loretta Nicknair of Presque Isle 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces and nephews Visiting Hours will 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St Joseph Church.
