Paul H. Leise, 77, of East Syracuse, passed away on March 11, 2019. Paul was born in Troy, NY on January 22, 1942 to the late Hubert and Lucia Leise. Paul graduated from St. Lucy’s Academy, Mohawk Valley Community College, served as anU.S. Army reservist and worked for several years at Smith Corona in Syracuse.

Paul worked for 20 years at and retired from his career as a Budget Analyst for Onondaga County. It was a job that fit him well and one that he loved. Paul loved to travel the world with his wonderful group of friends and family.

He had a zest for the finer things in life and loved hosting wonderful parties for all those near and dear to him. He was a thoughtful friend and a wonderful family member. He is predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Lucia Leise.

Paul is survived by his siblings, Lawrence (Susan Luerich) Leise of Raleigh, NC, and Cynthia Backus of Liverpool. A nephew,Thomas Backus of Boston, MA, niece Elizabeth (Adam) Hildreth of Baldwinsville as well as his great-niece, Ashlin and great-nephew, Andrew Hildreth, and many treasured family members and friends. There will be calling hours on Thursday March 21, 4-6pm at Mathewson- Forani Funeral home at 206 Kinne St. in East Syracuse.

A celebration of life will be planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
