Obituary for Paul Leon Anderson Paul Leon Anderson, age 78 of Tazewell, VA, died Friday, December 14, 2018, at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon, VA. He was born April 22, 1940 at Buchanan County, VA and was a son of the late Severie and Wanda Lee Smith Anderson. Mr. Anderson had worked for the majority of His life as a coal miner with various coal companies.

He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Mitchell; two brothers, Charles Anderson and Sherman Stevenson. Those who survive to cherish his memory include two children, Paul Gene Anderson, Jr., and wife, Sharon of Mudfork, VA, Doretta Anderson Holmberg and husband, Mark of Vancouver, WA; one sister, Claudette Scammell of Baptist Valley, VA; five grandchildren, Kayla Anderson, Kristen Kay Anderson, Jordan Wilken, Jeremy Wilken and Morgan Wilken; a host of other family members and friends also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Paul Leon Anderson will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Reverend Kathy Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at the Brown’s Chapel UMC Cemetery in Mudfork, VA. Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.
