Paul V. Claeys, 72, of Atkinson, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. No Services are scheduled, Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Atkinson Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in the Grandview Cemetery, Atkinson, IL.

Memorials may be directed to the Paul V. Claeys Memorial Fund. Cremation has been accorded. Paul was born on May 15, 1946, the son of Emil and Augusta Marie (Floming) Claeys, in Oscaloosa, IA.

He graduated from Atkinson High School in Atkinson, IL. Paul married Rita Partlow on July 31, 1971. He was previously employed at Farm & Fleet but was well known as a jack of all trades.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rita; daughter, Loretta, of Byhalia, MS; four grandchildren; Johnathon (Kris) McKeag, Niki McKeag, Curtis Brandom, and Carlie Brandom, and nine great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Augusta and Emil, one son, Jack L. Goldston, and one sister, Janice Claeys.
