Obituary of Paula Ludwig Paula S. Ludwig, 63 of North Liberty, formerly of Solon died suddenly, Monday, November 26, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Paula Sue Sweet was born March 12, 1955, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, the youngest daughter of Kenneth and Gladys (Karel) Sweet. Growing up in Solon, she attended schools there graduating from Solon High School.

She married John Phillip Ludwig on December 10, 1983, in Iowa City. She and John had lived in this area most of their married life with the exception of a short time in North Carolina. Paula recently retired a few years ago from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a number of years in animal research.

Paula has always loved animals and this was her way of caring for more. A more generous, sincere and positive soul would be hard to find, so many people in her life were blessed as her friend. This continued even at her death by her instructions to be a donor through the Iowa Donor Network, many will continue to benefit from her generous ways!

Her family includes her two sisters, Linda Evenden (John) and Beverly Sweet; a niece and nephew, Kimberly Allen and Jason Evenden. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John. No public services are being planned.
