Peggy Wachtel age 84 of Baker passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 21, 1934, in Edgecombe County, North Carolina to John and Clara Bone. Peggy enjoyed going fishing and camping.

She loved to cook. Peggy loved all sports and was very athletic in her younger days, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with them. She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Maurice Wachtel; son, Charles Wachtel and wife Monika; daughter, Norma Wachtel; three grandchildren, Brian Wachtel, Christi Remick, and Sara Rochester; and three great-grandchildren. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
