Nelson Shields, age 69, passed away on Tuesday February 26, 2019. He was born on January 19, 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee to Sanford and Hazel Shields. Nelson served his country for 24 years in the United States Air-Force.

After retiring he worked for Tybrinn Corporation for several years. Nelson and his family have lived in Crestview for over 35 years. He loved wildlife and feeding the critters.

Nelson enjoyed working on cars, he loved to go fishing and traveling with his family. Nelson loved the Blue Ridge Mountains, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his high school sweetheart of 48 years, Charlyne Shields; son, Michael Shields and his wife Victoria; daughter, Michelle Sheetz and husband Ted; grandchildren, Mark Sheetz, Violet and Elijah Shields.

A private family service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview. Guest book and condolences are available online at www.
