Peggy Gail McGowan-Billings June 12, 1953 – March 09, 2019 Share this obituary Upload Photo| View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences Our beloved sister, Peggy Gail McGowan-Billings, at the age of 65, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019 surrounded by her family and friends. Peggy was born on June 12, 1953 in Houston, Texas to Rubylee and Bobby McGowan. Peggy now is reunited in heaven with her husband, Charles Billings, her Mother and Father, Rubylee and Bobby McGowan along with her brother, Richard Wayne McGowan and her two dogs, Missy and Prissy whom she dearly loved.

Her surviving family are her sister Karen Carlin and her brother Mark McGowan. Her beloved nieces and nephews include, Christen Tupa, Kevin and Kathryn Carlin, Christopher and Hilary McGowan, Katelyn and Andrew Boyle, Shelli McGowan and Peter McGowan, and Great Grandnieces and nephews, Lexi and Stephen Tupa II, Taylor Tupa, Garrett Carlin, Rebekah McGowan and MollyAnne McGowan, and great-great Niece, Adrienne Tupa. Peggy served as the past President of the Board of Directors of the Tye Preston Library and also served as a member of the Canyon Lake Republican Ladies Club.

She thoroughly enjoyed being a reading tutor at Mountain Valley Elementary School. She served others through her gift of hospitality and friendship with an infectious personality. Peggy was a master flower arranging, crocheting and loved to go shopping, especially with her best friend, Melinda Rapp.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on March 19, 2019 at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Canyon Lake, Texas with Reverend Ron Zipp officiating. In lieu of flowers, and keeping with Peggy’s legacy, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Tye Preston Library.
