Obituary for Peggy Cummings (Childs) Peggy Joyce Childs Cummings, 79, of Rock Hill and formerly of FL and MI, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Piedmont Medical Center. She was born on July 16, 1939 in Blackey, KY, daughter of the late Marion and Opal Willis Childs. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by two brothers, James Childs and William Childs and two sisters, Eva Farhat and Betty Skusa.

Peggy was an avid reader and had her own library. She adored animals, plants and gardening. Giving by nature, she enjoyed baking for her family and making a lot of candy.

She was especially known for her rock candy and everyone anxiously awaited its arrival. She is survived by her beloved husband of 23 years, David “Dave” Cummings; daughters, Joyce L. Cook of Rock Hill and Pamela J. Barner of Lansing, MI; four grandchildren, Jennifer (T.J.), Jessica, Bernie and Michala; brothers, Ron Childs (Sue) and Robert Childs, all of FL; and sisters, Reba Douglas, Mary Ann Childs-Renshaw (John) and Brenda McQueen, all of FL. Services will be privately held.
