Peter E Andon, August 14, 1943 — February 14, 2019

Peter E. Andon, Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at his home. Age 75 years. Son of the late Pete and Mary (Bachman) Andon, Peter was born to the large loving, faith filled Greek/ Albanian family on August 14, 1943 in Rock Island, Illinois.

He graduated from United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois and attended St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Peter married Karen Yri, his loving wife of 51 years, on July 22, 1967. She survives him.

Pete was employed at Consolidated Freightways for 35 years retiring on April 1, 2002. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, its Finance Committee, an usher, lector and St. Thomas Aquinas School Athletic Association. Pete was a proud supporter of Nouvel Athletics and served on the finance committee for Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra.

He enjoyed gardening and lived his whole life devoted to his family. Surviving besides his loving wife Karen are two daughters and one son, Amy (Jeff) Bonser, Livonia; Jenifer (David) Rifkin, Saginaw; Peter (Ana) Andon, Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Charlie, Sam, Anna, Lila, Grant, Will, Caroline and Mattias; two brothers, Ken Andon, Urbana, Ohio; James Andon, East Moline, Illinois; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his special Aunt Nancy Feehan. Peter was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Andon, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vivian and Chet Yri and his devoted puppy, Oscar.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr.

Richard Bokinskie will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
