Peter Gus Lekas January 03, 1927 – September 16, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card PETER GUS LEKAS passed away at Oakland Highland Hospital on September 16, 2018. Loving husband, father, grand father, father-in-law and Uncle as well as friend and family member to many in the Bay Area, too many to list them all. Peter was married in 1951, graduated from Oakland High School and from the University of California Berkeley, where he studied Architecture.

He worked for Peter Confer Architecture in Pleasant Hill, CA for over 20 years. Peter was a proud member and served on the board for the Turtles association here in the Bay Area. Peter was born and raised in Oakland, CA and lived near Lake Merritt all his adult life.

He was also a United States Navy WWII veteran. Peter also was a member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in the hills of Oakland, CA. He is survived by his wife Katherine C. Lekas, daughter Kristina D. Lekas-Mason, grandson, Peter C. Mason, father-in-law Don Mason, niece, Jill Lekas.

He was pre-deceased by his son Dean Lekas (09/01/2018). Funeral Services will be held on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 1pm at the Greek Cathedral of the Ascension 4700 Lincoln Ave. , Oakland.

Trisagion Services will be held Friday October 12, 2018 at 7pm at the Alameda Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 1415 Oak St., Alameda, Interment Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette. Peter will be deeply missed by family, relatives, friends and all the many people who know or knew him through the years. Rest in Peace Peter Gus Lekas we Love you always and will never forget you.
