OBITUARY Phellip Rodriguez September 13, 1921 – July 9, 2018 Phellip Rodriguez, age 96, passed away on July 9, 2018. He was born on September13, 1921 to Ben and Dionicia Rodriguez in Creedmoor, Texas. He moved to Dallas to attend school and work.
Phellip met his true love, Toni, and they were married at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in 1943 in Little Mexico. They had three children, Rosemary, Albert, and Delia. Being a WWII veteran, Phellip was a proud recipient of a Purple Heart when wounded in the line of duty while serving in the United States Army.
He was stationed in Germany, France and England. After the war, he returned to Dallas and started Rodriguez Roofing which he operated until the age of 91 in 2012. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Striper fishing at Lake Texoma was his passion as was his family. He took many a fishing trip with Toni and the kids. He shared dove and quail hunting with his son.
Loving, hardworking, generous are just a few of the qualities that made Phellip loved by so many. He always had a big smile on his face and a kind word for all. “Thank you Lord for blessing us with Phellip.
He is forever in your care”. He is preceded in death by his wife, Antonia Rodriguez. He is survived by his children, Rosemary Serrano and husband, Arthur, Albert Rodriguez and wife Dee and Delia Stone.
Phellip is also survived by four grandchildren, Alex Serrano and wife Lisa, Richard Serrano, Ann Serrano and Rachel Stone. He is survived by two great grandchildren, Ava Serrano and Maya Serrano. Visitation will be Sunday July 15, 2018 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a Rosary at 4 p.m. at Gonzalez Funeral Home Chapel, 3050 N. Stemmons Fwy.
Dallas, TX 75247. Funeral Mass will be Monday July 16, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church 2800 Valwood Pkwy. Farmers Branch, TX 75234 with Burial at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.
