OBITUARY Anne Angela Alspach February 2, 1930 – July 11, 2018 Anne Angela Alspach was born on Sunday, February 2, 1930 in Plains, Pennsylvania and passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Anne was born to Stanley and Angela Belch and was the youngest of twelve children. Her parents passed away when she was just a toddler so she was raised by her beloved seven older sisters.
She graduated High School in 1948 and at the ripe old age of 18 she began her short 3-year career as a private secretary with the Social Security Administration. She then met the love of her life in Baltimore on a blind date in 1951. She married her best friend Charles R. Alspach on September 6, 1952 in CrotonOn-Hudson, New York.
Together they started a family while living in the Northeast and then moved on to Dallas, Texas in 1968. After marriage, she devoted herself to being a Housewife and Mother. Throughout her life Anne was involved in and volunteered with many organizations and was very active in her church.
She was a long-time member of Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church, formerly Churchill Way Presbyterian Church, which she joined in 1969. Anne’s faith was an integral part of who she was and served her church family in numerous ways, including as a member of Presbyterian Women of Bentwood Trail. She was a member of the Jr. League of Springfield, Massachusetts and was a Charter Member of both Northwood Hills Women’s Club and the North Texas Garden Railway Club.
She was an active volunteer at the Maternity Hospital in Springfield, Mass, Meals on Wheels, and a Disabled Children’s School. Later in life she served on various committees at Highland Springs, including the Treasure Chest. Affectionately called “Annie” by many, she will be remembered for her fierce love and devotion to her family and generosity of spirit to all around her.
She never met a stranger and people of all ages were drawn to her vivacity. She was known for the sparkle in her eyes and her beautiful, comforting smile. She was considered a mother and a grandmother by many more than just her family.
Annie was a first generation American of Polish descent and taught herself to read and write Polish so she could communicate with her relatives in Poland after researching her genealogy. You could often find her in her garden, doing puzzles or crocheting. She is preceded in death by her parents and nine beloved siblings.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving companion in life Charles Richard Alspach; her loving children, Barbara McKee and partner Frank Watassek, Steve Alspach and wife Susan Alspach, Susan Roberts and husband Michael Roberts; her much loved eight grandchildren, John McKee (wife Alyssa), Kelly Mckee Yanez (husband Orlando), Logan McKee, Sam Alspach, Max Alspach, Hannah Alspach, Zach Alspach, and Paul Roberts (wife Nicci); one treasured great grandchild, Ella Roberts; two sisters, Irene Scott and Theresa Williams.
