Kibby, Phila M., 99 of Springfield, formerly of Winter Haven, FL passed away July 6, 2018. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 29, 1919, the daughter of Ralph and Goldie Hempfling. Phila was a 1941 graduate of the University of Cincinnati.

She retired as an English teacher from Northeastern High School. Phila was a member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church of Winter Haven and the Red Hat Society. She was an avid traveler and loved sports.

She especially loved to cheer on the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. In her spare time she enjoyed being with friends and family, sharing stories over an ice cold Coca-Cola. She was quite the social butterfly and didn’t know a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl; sister Sis Shire and daughter-in-law Mary Kibby. Survivors include her sons James (Deb) Kibby and Jack Kibby; grandchildren Amy Mitchell, Jack J. Kibby, Jamie Ulbrich, Suzanne Nelson, Elizabeth Davis and Ross Kibby; numerous great-grandchildren and nieces Billie and Sue. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
