Philip Morris Wilson, 80, of Valdese, joined his wife in Heaven Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Morganton Long Term Care. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Dillard and JoAnna Penland Wilson. Philip was preceded in death by his wife: Sarah Patton Wilson, who died in 2003; an infant son: Thad; and, a daughter-in-law: Shannon Wilson Surviving are his son: Tim Wilson of Nebo; 3 daughters: Renee Rogers and husband, Mike, of Morganton, Louise Bledsoe and husband, Jason, of Marion, and Penny Woodell and husband, Eddie, of Valdese; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a host of “Adopted Grandchildren” who called him “Pops”; a brother: Bernard Wilson of Morganton; and, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM Wednesday in Riverside Baptist Church located at 516 NC 126 in Morganton. Rev. James Hefner will officiate.

Burial will be in Carroway Cemetery in Burnsville. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Burke Hospice and Morganton Long Term Care for the care given.

Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home is assisting the Wilson family.
