Obituary of Philip Johnson Philip A. Johnson, 62, of Titusville, passed away Tuesday morning November 20, 2018 at Titusville Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Phil was born on January 20, 1956 in Titusville, a son of the late Elmer “Jiggs” Johnson and Opal Ross Johnson. He was married to Holly Lindsay on July 29, 1978 in Titusville.

Phil was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1975 and also a graduate of Mercyhurst Municipal Police Adademy. He had been employed as a campus police officer at Allegheny College in Meadville for 13 years until his retirement in 2016. He was also previously employed at Pitt Campus in Titusville in the same capacity.

Phil was a member of the Titusville Free Methodist Church where he served as head usher for many years. He was a volunteer EMS with both the Hydetown and Chapmanville Volunteer Fire Departments. He had also worked for the former Erie and Crawford County State Police.

He and his son Matt were avid Batman enthusiasts. Phil is survived by his wife Holly of Titusville; a son, Matt Johnson and wife Katie of Titusville; a sister, Roxanne Minium and husband Robert of Titusville; a sister-in-law, Pat Kepner of Hughesville, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter “Buss” and Mary Lindsay.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday from 7 to 9 PM. Further visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at the Titusville Free Methodist Church at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Timothy Maybray officiating.

Interment will be in Kerr Hill Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to the Titusville Free Methodist Church 42490 State Hwy 27 Titusville, PA 16354.
