Centreville, Maryland, November 2, 2018 Phillips Wescott Fox, 52, a long-time resident of Chestertown, and a direct descendant of the first English settlers on the Eastern Shore, passed away this morning after a long illness. Phil was well-known in the Chester River boating community. Formerly, he was the captain of a survey vessel for the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company.

Phil was the son of the late Barbara Ann Fox (née Peltz) and William W. Fox, Jr. In addition to his father, he is survived by his brother, Edward Hewitt Fox of Philadelphia, and his friend, Theresa Kruhm of Crumpton. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and his step-mother. Phil graduated from the Friends Select School in Philadelphia where he was president of his senior class.

He also attended the College of Charleston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service, Saturday, 3:00 PM, November 10, 2018 at Christ Church, 20 N. American St., on 2nd St., (above Market St.), Phila, PA 19106.
