Phyllis P. Schatterman, 95, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 25th at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24th, at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave.

, Rock Island. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Father Edward Bader Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Phyllis was born on June 13, 1922 in Hiteman, Iowa, a daughter of Charles and Hettie (Cooper) Anderson. She married Thomas C. Schatterman in 1942 in Kahoka, MO. Thomas passed away June 28, 1998.

Phyllis was a loving homemaker. In earlier years, she worked at Servus rubber during WWII and also as a school crossing guard near St. Pius. Phyllis was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rock Island.

She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Circle of 4 and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Phyllis enjoyed bowling and playing bingo, often giving her friends rides to the events. Phyllis loved Holiday dinners with her family.

Left to cherish Phyllis’s memory are her children, Thomas D. Schatterman, Chicago, Judy (Thomas) Buck, Rock Island and Michael L. (Roxanne) Schatterman, Coal Valley; grandchildren, Chad (Laura) Hanson, Jennifer (Bryan) Richardson, Nicole (Shane) Banks, Laura (Jason) True, Jeffrey (Amy) Schatterman; 9 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.
