Prentice Jackson Evans, age 89, of Macon, died Friday, January 4, 2019. Mr. Evans was born in Laurens County and was the son of the late Jackson Robert Evans and Ethel Bedingfield Evans. He was retired with a lifetime career from Tall Paul’s Campers and was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David Evans, grandsons; Rusty Evans and Peter Evans, brothers; Roy Evans, Richard Evans and sister; Grace Ballard. Survivors include his daughter, Diane Rich of East Dublin, son, Dennis (Elizabeth) Evans of Virginia Beach, siblings; David (Sue) Evans of Rentz, Anita (Walter) Young of Thompson, Betty Edge of East Dublin, James Evans of Rentz, Ray (Joan) Evans of Rentz, 9 grandchildren numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Sunday, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2019 in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Pastor Scotty Herndon will officiate. Eddie Freeman, Billy Gilbert, Timmy Evans, Ken Barton, Mark Freeman and Brian Evans will serve as pallbearers.
