Homer “H.A.” Shipley December 19, 1923 – November 14, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Homer “H.A.” Shipley, Jr., of Borger, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018. He was born December 19, 1923 at Mt. Blanco, Texas to Homer Andrew Shipley, Sr. and Ollie Irene (Rogers) Shipley.

Homer married Mary Redus in 1944 in Pampa. They celebrated 77 years of marriage. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the Army Air Corp.

He was a night superintendent for Phillips Petroleum for many years, and was a member of the Billy Dixon Masonic Lodge in Borger and the American Legion. An avid hunter and fisherman, he held the Texas State record for the biggest Walleye caught at Lake Meredith. Preceding him in death are his parents; 2 sisters: Sibyl Carver and Ann Nichols and 1 brother, Ethrich Shipley.

His survivors are: his loving wife, Mary; a daughter, Becky Hatfield and husband, Randy of Borger; a son, Frank Edward Shipley and wife Jan of Amarillo, a sister, Delores Wright of Lubbock; a grandson, Patrick Ryan Hatfield and wife, Jenna of Borger and 6 great grandchildren: Stormy Hatfield, Aubrie Hatfield, Shaylee Hatfield, Leah Akens, Drake Akens and Dusty Andrew Hatfield. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains, Borger. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Borger.

The family will welcome friends on Friday, November 16, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains. Mr. Shipley will lie in state from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Friday at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains, Borger. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Directors, Borger.
