Obituary for RAFAELA Nana/Mama ARGUELLO A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Rafaela Arguello, age 80 of O’Donnell and known to family and friends as “Nana” and “Mama” at 10:oo a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in O’Donnell, TX. with Father John Steven Rathinam and assisted by Deacons’ Simon Resendez and George Holguin. Interment will follow to the O’Donnell Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. Rosary prayer services will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church followed with a viewing. Rafaela passed away on Monday May 21, 2018 in O’Donnell, TX.

She was born on July 2, 1937 in Las Hojas, Starr County, Texas. Rafaela married Luis R. Arguello on February 10, 1963 in Roma, TX. Rafaela was preceded in death by her husband, Luis R. Arguello on April 10, 2018; her brother, Santos Rosales; her nephew, Jo Santos Rosales.

She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic church where she was very active in several church activities. Rafaela is survived by her family, her son, Armando R. Arguello and wife, Stella of O’Donnell, TX; her daughters, Norma Arguello of Lorenzo, TX. and Maria Arguello of Posey, TX.

; Alex Resendez and Mark Resendez, whom she raised as her very own boys; her brother, Simon Rosales of Starr County, TX; her sister, Guadalupe Hinojos of Starr County, TX. ; several relatives and friends.
