Obituary for Ralph A. Pascale WATERVLIET – Ralph A. Pascale passed away peacefully on December 22, 2018, at the Eddy Village Green after a brief illness. Ralph was born in Watervliet to Luca and Mary Pascale on April 29, 1930. Ralph worked side by side with his Father at Luca’s Barber Shop on Third Avenue in Watervliet for 50+ years while also working as a barber at the Ann Lee and Albany County Nursing Homes for 20 years, retiring in 2006.
He was a wonderful pizzamaker working part time at the original Inferno for several years (we always woke up to a delicious plain cheese pizza for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings). He enjoyed making home made wine with his family and playing bocce for fun as well as in a Monday league. In addition to his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his wife Ann Rose Germano Pascale who died in 2016, his brother Anthony, sister Vincenza, and nephews Luca Pascale and Daniel DelTorto.
Ralph is survived by his daughter Mary Longmate (Morgan), son Anthony Pascale (Robilee McIntyre); most loved grandchildren, Eric Hayes (Jeanine Giroux), Whitney Longmate Sbardella (John Sbardella), and Abri Annabella Pascale; great-grandchildren Aubrey and Mikey Giroux, Estelle Rose Sbardella and precious baby girl Sbardella due in January. He is also survived by sister Elizabeth DelTorto, brother Vincent Pascale, and many nieces and nephews. Ralph’s family will be forever grateful for the prayers and support from loving friends and family throughout his illness.
Our family would also like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to the amazing staff of House 14 at Eddy Village Green for their love, respectful care and support of our “Pop” during his brief stay. A viewing for family and friends, followed by a prayer service will take place on Thursday, December 27th from 10-11:30 am at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet.
Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet. Those wishing to remember Ralph in a special way may honor his love for children by sending a contribution to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolence book at ParkerBrosMemorial.com.
