Gerald was born on Monday, June 4, 1934, in Alicia, Arkansas, to Ralph G. and Opal Parks Felts. On January 24, 1959, Gerald married the love of his life, Ila M. Blankenship.

They were married for sixty years. Gerald was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, neighbor, and friend. He was a long-time member of the Southwest Church, in Jonesboro.

Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Army. He also retired from Texas Eastern. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph G. and Opal Parks Felts; brother, James Felts; and sister, Helen Vellah.

Gerald is survived by his wife of sixty years, Ila M. Blankenship Felts, of the home; son, Marty (Nancy) Felts, of Jonesboro; sister, Juanita Felts, of Jonesboro; and grandson, Jacob Felts, of Jonesboro. All services will be held at the Southwest Church, in Jonesboro, on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Gerald’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 12:00 pm; Jimmy Adcox and Chris Harrell, officiating. Cremation has been chosen as the method of final disposition. The cremation process will be initiated at the conclusion of all services.

A private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paragould Children’s Home, 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas 72450, or any charitable organization. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.
