Ralph “Rusty” David Matthews March 16, 1959 – January 21, 2019 Sign Guestbook Ralph “Rusty” David Matthews, age 59 of Howell, passed away unexpectedly late Monday evening, January 21, 2019. Born in Ypsilanti on March 16, 1959 to Robert E. and Jean (Allison) Matthews. Rusty was a lifelong Howell area resident and was employed as a Sanitary Facility Operator for the Livingston County Drain Commission.

He loved his Harley Davidson and enjoyed riding for charity, throwing his annual pig roast and spending time with family and friends. Beloved husband of Dorinda L. (Cotter) Matthews whom he married in Howell on April 12, 1994. Loving father of Rachel Marie Matthews of Howell, Robert Paul Matthews of Howell and Nicole Marie Matthews of Tennessee.

Proud grandfather of Maci Jean Matthews. Also survived by his mother, Jean Matthews of Hamburg; brother, Thomas Matthews of Howell and sister, Kathryn Gilbert of Hamburg; many nieces, nephews, brothers in-law, sisters in-law and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Matthews.

Visitation Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with funeral services in honor and celebration of Rusty’s life taking place Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800).
