Raymond E. McKinley, Sr., 72, of Rock Island, Ill. , passed away May 15, 2019 at V.A. Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave.

, Milan, Ill. Burial, with military honors, will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later. Raymond was born January 7, 1947 in Rock Island, Ill. , a son of James and Gladys Kinman McKinley.

He was previously married to Pam Lingdon, and later was married to Jessica James-Grace. He was U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient of the Vietnam War. Raymond worked at J.I. Case for 15 years.

He also was a volunteer firefighter with the Coal Valley Fire Department. He was a member of the Rock Island Moose Lodge. He loved to fish, hunt, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

His favorite driver was Tony Stewart. Surviving are his children, Renee (Matt) Thomas, Argyle, Tex. , Kim (Johnnie) Lawver, Rock Island, and Ray (Abby) McKinley, Jr., Wichita, Kan.

; stepchildren, Annett (Allen) Wright, Reynolds, Ill. , and Howard Grace, Venice, Fla. ; ten grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, William and Jack McKinley; sister, Patricia DeSpain; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gladys; sister, Thelma Jean Duncan; and brothers, Bud, Tom, Bob and Paul McKinley.
