Raymond Frank Estrella, Sr. March 05, 1927 – May 05, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Card Raymond Frank Estrella, Sr., 92, of Hilo died May 5 at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired office clerk for the County of Hawaii South Hilo Road Department, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Our Mother of Perpetual Help Novena, Pu’u Wai O Pio Senior Baseball Team and a veteran and Corporal with the U.S. Army during World War II and receiving the World War II Victory Medal and Philippines Independence Metal. Friends may call 5–6:30 p.m. Thursday (May 23, 2019) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; wake service at 6:30.

Friends may call again 9–10:30 a.m. Friday (May 24, 2019) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; funeral mass at 10:30. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2. Casual attire.

Survived by daughters, Annette (Douglas) Arruda of Keaau, Emily (Greg) Ascino of Kona; son, Ray (Julianna) C. Estrella of Kona; sons-in-law, Edward Kansana of Hilo, Joseph Ragocos, Sr. of Hilo; private nurse, Merry Kranz of Mountain View; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews.
