Obituary for Raymond J. Wells KINGSFORD – Raymond J. Wells, 90, of Kingsford, MI, died Friday, December 14, 2018 at Dickinson County Healthcare System. He was born January 28, 1928 in Phillips, WI, son of the late Raymond and Florence (Haxton) Wells. After graduating high school, he attended radio school in Minneapolis, MN.

Ray was a U.S.Navy veteran of WWII and served on the USS L.S.T.270. He married Bette Hanson on October 1, 1947 at the First Presbyterian Church. Ray worked as a radio announcer and manager in Jacksonville, IL for 35 years.

They traveled to many different states doing the job he loved. He also worked for WJNR in Iron Mountain. Raymond loved music, old movies, and going for daily rides.

Ray was a former member of the Kingsford American Legion Post. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette; one brother, Ralph Wells; two sisters, Lois Gotz and Marion Lanphier. Ray is survived by his special friends, Larry and Nancy Luthardt and their extended families.
