Raymond “Joe” Boutin, 44, of Higgins Hill in St. Johnsbury, VT, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Ray was born January 20, 1974, in Island Pond, VT to Raymond and Valerie (Wilson) Boutin. He was the third of 11 children.

He was raised and educated in South Caroline and moved to the North East Kingdom when he was 18. On October 15, 2005, Ray married Jennifer L. Bell enjoying 12 years with her. Ray worked as a tree climber at his own company, All Around Tree.

Ray loved being in the woods, hammering on the skidder and climbing trees. He enjoyed racing, fishing, hunting and riding his Harley. He was also quite fond of his dog, Bear.

His greatest love was his kids and being a Papa to his grandson. Ray is survived by his wife: Jennifer Boutin of St. Johnsbury, VT; 3 daughters: Kyla Boutin (Eric Carroll) of Coventry, VT, Khloey Boutin and Karsyn Boutin of St. Johnsbury, VT; 9 siblings: Rosa Noyes, Tracy Nichols (John), Robin Boutin and her son, Dylan Brink, James Lang, John Sleep, Della Lafleur, Fleashia Appleby, Richard Lafleur, and Jessie Carpenter; a grandson: Oliver Carroll; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother: Valerie R. Appleby; and a brother: Christian Carpenter.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 31, 2018, 5-7PM at Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St. Johnsbury, VT. Burial will be private. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.
