Raymond L. Reis, age 84 of Grand Haven, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Robbinswood Assisted Living Center. Ray was born March 30, 1934 in Muskegon, to Ray and Sarah (Davis) Reis. He married Jane Dykema on February 12, 1965, and she preceded him in death on December 2, 2016.

Ray graduated from Muskegon High School and had been employed as a bus driver for Spring Lake Public Schools, and then went on to work for Old Kent Bank in the maintenance department. He was a long time member of Second Reformed Church, and was also a member of the Grand Haven Elks Lodge #1200, where he served as a past exalted ruler. Ray enjoyed sports of all kinds, was an avid bowler on several different leagues, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his three daughters, Rae Lynn (Tim) Zandbergen, Susan Schuler, and Barbara Schliewe; eight grandchildren; brother-in-law, James (Marcia) Dykema; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elaine Flagstead; and brothers-in-law, Arnold Flagstead and Thomas Dykema. The Funeral Service for Ray will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Second Reformed Church, with Pastor Dan Eisnor officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation.
