Raymond Leon Haupt, native of Millersville, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 in Chesterfield, Missouri at the age of 91. Ray was the son of Wilson S. Haupt and Cora Moore Haupt. His brother, Loy, preceded him in 2014.

Ray was married to the former Mary Evelyn Cobble of Oak Ridge, who passed in 1999. Ray is survived by his son, Stuart and daughter-in-law, Vicki, of Wildwood, Missouri; grandson, Matt, wife Elizabeth and three great-grandchildren, Emma, Mackenzie and Dylan of Columbia, Missouri; sister-in-law, Nelta Haupt and nephew, Brian of Millersville. He was a member of Caney Fork Baptist Church.

Ray graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1944 and attended Southeast Missouri State Teachers College before enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was selected for flight training and upon graduation was commissioned a second lieutenant in the newly formed U.S. Air Force. Following a distinguished 30-year aviation career he was retired in 1975 at Davis- Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona with the rank of Brigadier General, USAF.

He lived in Tucson until he moved back to Missouri in 2015. Funeral services for Raymond will be conducted at Ford and Sons – Jackson on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. Friday. Burial, with military honors, will follow immediately at Cape County Memorial Park.
