Weber, of Bernard, Iowa passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa. Friends and relatives of Raymond may call from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa where a wake service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friends may also call after 9 a.m, Monday, February 18, 2019 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial for Raymond will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fillmore, Iowa with Rev.

Douglas Loecke presiding. Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fillmore, Iowa. He was born January 22, 1933 in Bernard, Iowa, son of Ben “C.J.” and Anna (Erdmann) Weber.

He received his education in the Placid area schools. On November 14, 1956 he was united in marriage to Doris A. Puff at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa. She preceded him in death on July 10, 2015.

The couple farmed in the rural Bernard area. He was a Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Bernard Telephone Company Board of Directors for over 25 years, a lifetime member of the National Farmers Organization “NFO” he was instrumental in organizing the NFO in Dubuque County.

He was also a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Fillmore, Iowa. He is survived by special friends, Ted and Deb Mausser and their children who adopted Ray and Doris as their special grandparents, Kristen Miles, Melinda McDermott, Noah Mausser and Hayley Leppert; a brother, Emil (Darlene) Weber of Epworth, IA; two sisters-in-law , Alice Weber of Dyersville, IA and Norma Weber of Bernard, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leo Weber and Elmer (Mary) Weber and Clarence Weber; and a sister Helen (Albert) Gansemer.
