Reba’s Obituary Reba Lauretta Arthaud was born February 23, 1935, east of Fay, Blaine County, Oklahoma to Floyd and Ida (Humphreys) Busler and passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Weatherwood Assisted Living in Weatherford, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years and 26 days. Reba moved at a young age with her parents and siblings to Eagle City, then to Oakwood and back to Eagle City where she started to school. She graduated from Eagle City High School in 1953.

Reba continued her education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma, making most of her expenses by working in a small café on the corner of College and Custer streets. She taught elementary a few years then started working toward a Master’s degree which she received July 25, 1963. Reba began her teaching career at Thomas Public School where she taught for one year before moving to Hooker, Oklahoma.

She moved from Hooker, Oklahoma and settled into the Woodward Public schools where she was the reading teacher under the Title One Program. Reba retired from teaching after 30 plus years. On December 20, 1974, Reba married Norman Arthaud in Woodward, Oklahoma.

She and Norman set up housekeeping in Mutual where Norman ran a machine shop and Reba commuted to her job in Woodward. Reba developed health problems and moved into Weatherwood Assisted Living in Weatherford, Oklahoma June 9, 2017. Reba leaves behind four sisters: Irene Busler of Canton, Oklahoma, Alsina Plummer of Geary, Oklahoma, Helen Leonard and husband, Garland of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Filma Schimmels and husband, Fred of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nephews: Wayne and James Plummer, Ronald and Russell Busler, and Gale Humphreys; nieces: Sharon Bacon, Carol Lewis, Juanita Hall, Jean Ross, Judy Martin, Sue Chaney, Barbara Anthony, Marcy Beckett, and Maria Whitney; sisters-in-law, Betty Humphreys, Etta Busler, and Caroline Burgess; brothers-in-law, Alan Arthaud and wife, Flossie, and Leland Arthaud and wife, Loretta; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and cousins from both sides.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ida Busler; brothers, Asa Dean Busler and Vernie Busler, Delmer Humphreys; her husband, Norman Arthaud; Norman’s parents Millard and Velma Arthaud; his brother, Richard Arthaud; and his sister, Iris.
