Rebecca Giddens McNeal, 61, passed away December 30, 2018, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Mrs. McNeal was surrounded in love by her children, family, and friends during her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. McNeal will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Rev.

Russ Simpkins and Rev. Judson Blewster officiating. Burial will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday. Rebecca Frances Giddens was born on June 14, 1957, in Anniston, Alabama. Mrs. McNeal was the fourth child of William and Marilyn Giddens.

She was a native of Weaver, Alabama. Mrs. McNeal worked for Jacksonville State University’s Housekeeping Department and she enjoyed cheering on the Gamecocks and Crimson Tide. Mrs. McNeal’s hobbies included shopping, traveling, and attending concerts.

She enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family and adored her grandchildren to whom she loved being a Nana too, most of all. Mrs. McNeal is survived by her husband, Anthony McNeal; two sons, Judson (Megan) Blewster and Matthew Blewster; one step-daughter, Alecia (Justin) Bruce; her father, William Giddens; two brothers, Doug (Patti) Giddens and William Giddens; two sisters, Linda (Gunter) Gritsch and Deborah Giddens; six grandchildren, Henry Blewster, Ben Blewster, Russ Blewster, Lauren Bruce, Connor Bruce, and Trevor Bruce; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Dylan Lee, Andrew Tuck, Colby Gilchrist, Austin Williams, Danny Williams and Brandon McNeal.

Mrs. McNeal is preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Giddens; her step-mother, Frances Giddens; one nephew, Tim Giddens; and one niece, Emily Giddens.
