Obituary for Rebel Grace MacKay Our precious baby, Rebel Grace MacKay, daughter of Chad and Brenda MacKay, was called home to our Heavenly Father on November 19, 2018 at 2:30 a.m. and born still on November 19, 2018 at 5:22 p.m., weighing 6 lbs 13 ozs at 17. 5 inches long. Though our eyes did not meet, our spirits absolutely did as she touched each one of us in different ways.
Rebel truly had a playful spirit that became most evident when she interacted with her brothers (Anson and Bennett) and sister (Charlee). She had a very vibrant and strong spirit. She had a joy and determination for life here on Earth and fought as hard as she could until her tiny little body couldn’t continue on any longer.
She carried with her a spirit of gratitude, strong love and trust in Heavenly Father and let us know she trusted in Him, and we could too. We are broken hearted that we could not bring her home to us and that she returned home to her Heavenly Father instead. Our arms feel deeply empty.
At the same time, we find comfort and peace in knowing she is with our Heavenly Father and in the enveloping arms of all of her loved ones who have passed on before. We love you forever and always. We love your stars.
The imprint you have left on our hearts is eternal and forever and we can’t wait to see you again in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Rebel Grace MacKay is survived by her parents, older brothers Anson and Bennett, and older sister Charlee. She is also survived by adoring grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and all others whose lives she has touched.
She is preceded in death by her two older sisters, Nevaeh and Erin, her uncle Chase, her great-grandparents Raymond and Rosanna Ellis, Carol Buck Romph, and Lowell Stewart MacKay. Our family would like to acknowledge and thank the caring staff at Maternal Fetal Medicine and IMC for all their love, deep devotion and care for Rebel and our family. We’d also like to thanks Julie Williams and NILMDTS for capturing this precious moment in our life when time stood still.
We do so with sincere hearts, more than words can offer. To celebrate Rebel’s life, we will be holding public graveside services at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 27th, at the Riverton Cemetery (1540 West 13200 South) Riverton, Utah. We invite all who would like to celebrate her life to join us at the West Jordan Sycamores Stake Center (7580 West 7980 South) from 3:15-5:15 p.m. following the graveside dedication and service for refreshments.
