Obituary for William Bradford Russell William Bradford Russell passed away peacefully November 11, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Born on September 5, 1966 in Denver, CO, he was adopted and raised by Rodney Eyre Russell and Geraldine Bradford Russell. He was nicknamed Rusty as a child because of his rusty colored hair, which shortened to “Russ” in later years.

He grew up with his sisters Patricia and Jennifer in the Holladay area of Salt Lake City. Russ loved watching his mother dance with Ballet West. He enjoyed laying under the piano while his grandmother, Virginia Bradford, an accomplished pianist, played complicated pieces.

He was fiercely patriotic and was very proud that his father, grandfather, and step-son served their country. He loved the scouting program and became an Eagle scout at the age of 13. Russ was an avid and skilled hockey player who helped Olympus High School win a state championship.

He even went on to be invited to the Olympic tryouts in Colorado. After High School, Russ worked as a Chef for the Tiffin Room at ZCMI. He then studied architecture at SLCC which became his profession for over 30 years.

He was a computer wizard known to build computers from scratch, an accomplished gardener, won trophies for his dart playing, and was an amateur science buff. Russ also coached hockey at the Davis County Recreation Center for several years and was affectionately known as “Coach Russ”. Russ had two sons, Spencer and Zachary with former wife Jennifer Holmes.

He had one daughter, Lily, and a step-son Carter, with former wife Cindy Russell. Those who knew Russ, knew that he loved his family. He shared a love of gardening with his mother and took great care of her garden until recently.

Russ’s sons and daughter were such a joy to him. He enjoyed attending Spencer’s car races, Zach’s hockey games, and Lily’s musical performances. He was a very proud Dad.

He leaves behind his mother Geraldine Bradford Russell and his beloved children: Spencer William Russell, Zachary Allen Russell, Lillian Mary Russell, step-son: Carter J. Nichols, his sisters, Patricia and Jennifer Russell. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 3-4 p.m. Funeral services will take place at 4 p.m. Both the viewing and the funeral will be held at the Woods Cross Stake Center, located at 2064 South 800 West, Woods Cross, Utah. Interment will be at the Salt Lake Cemetery.
