Obituary for LaRae Dockstader Merrill Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, LaRae Docstader Merrill, passed away November 7, 2018 in Preston, Idaho. She was born on October 21, 1930 on the family farm in Mink Creek, Idaho. On September 11, 1950 she married DeMar W. Merrill in the Logan Temple.

They made their home in Preston, Idaho and were blessed with six children. She worked at Ireland Bank for many years. DeMar and LaRae also owned The Shoe Store in Preston.

LaRae loved golfing, crocheting and quilting blankets for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, DeMar; her father, Chancey; her mother, Mae; her stepfather, Earl Davis; brothers, Keith and James DeMont. She is survived by her children, Mike (Sandy); Steve; Robert (Jean); Kent (Loralee); Kirk (Charleen); and Karen (Kip).

She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 12:00 pm in the Preston 9th Ward Chapel – 310 North State in Preston, Idaho. A viewing will be held on Monday, November 12 from 10:30 am to 11:45 am prior to services at the Chapel.

Interment will be at the Preston Cemetery. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Beckstead, all the caregivers at the FCMC Transitional Care Center and for the support of special friends and neighbors through the years.
