A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Saint Dominic¹s Church in Youngstown, celebrated by the Rev. Vincent DeLucia for Regina ” Renna ” Androsek, 101, who passed away peacefully early Sunday, March 10, 2019. Regina was born January 13, 1918, in Youngstown, a daughter of Konstant and Frances Prawdzik Maksim.

A life time resident of the area, Regina volunteered at the Fish Samaritan House and Meals on Wheels. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Dominic Church, and volunteered as one at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Assumption Village, and Mercy Health. Regina also belonged to the Rosary and Altar Society at St. Dominic Church, she was a member of the Wednesday cleaning crew at the church and the Catholic Daughters Court under Bishop McFadden, and a member of PLAV (polish league of American Veterans).

Regina is survived by her daughters, Suzann (James) Menighan of Glenview, IL, Mary Elizabeth (Big Bob) Basic of Austintown, Linda Germaine (Chuck) Ohl of Chardon, OH, and Barbara (Dale) Frank of Canfield; son Lawrence “Larry” (Jeanne) Androsek of Boardman; 12 grandchildren, Kathleen Wilson; Kelley Menighan; Karoline Eigel, Lynette Paris, Jeanette Haus, Robert Basic and Jason Basic, Andria Garten, Christopher Ohl, Michael Ohl, Bridget Klughart and Patrick Frank. Her fifteen great-grandchildren with one on the way. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Adam Stanley Androsek, whom she married September 2, 1940 and who passed away December 4, 1992 and siblings Bertha, Teresa, Germaine, Mary, Aloisi, George, Thadeus and Richard Maksim.

Private calling hours were held Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home 4700 Market St. Boardman. Regina’s family would like to thank the staff of the Assumption Village and Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care and love shown to their mother. Material donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
