Regina S. Ballard, 81, of Kim passed away on July 17, 2018 at the Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. She was born on March 18, 1937 in Bronx, New York to David & Marion (Katz) Sheff. From the bright lights of the Bronx in New York City to the starry skies of Southeastern Colorado.

During her 60 years in the Kim area, she enjoyed knitting, cheering on the Kim Mustang’s, reading to school kids, dancing, serving as the postmaster and on city council. Jeanie was a devoted mother and wife. Until her last days she offered a caring and compassionate shoulder to cry on for anyone in need.

She had an entire room devoted to the storage of gifts and cards, and never missed anyone’s special occasion. She didn’t go anywhere without one of her many phone’s and always kept in touch. Jeanie was admired and known as a survivor who was determined to live through life’s hardships and various medical conditions.

She will be missed dearly by so many. She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Jeanne) Ballard of La Junta; Eric (Emily) Ballard of Bennett, CO; Dean Ballard of La Junta; grandchildren, Dan, Doug, Misty, and Franklin; four great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Block of White Plains, NY; numerous nieces & nephews also survive; special friends, Bill Ballard and Jim Kelter. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack Sheff.

Graveside service will be Monday, July 23, 2018 at 12: 00 p.m. at the Kim Cemetery with Rabbi Birdie Becker of the Temple Emanuel in Pueblo officiating. In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to St. Jude or the Kim Cemetery Fund direct or through the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.
