Montoya, Reuben, 87, Johnstown, passed away May 12, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. Born September 18, 1931 in Topeka KS, son of the late Angel Montoya and Jennie (Lopez) Martin. Preceded in death by daughter, Diana Montoya; brothers, Saul and Jonas Montoya; sisters, Naomi Gruhn and Sylvia Montoya.

Survived by loving wife, Claire (Walter) Montoya, Johnstown; sons, Jon married to Sandy and Mark Jon married to Karen all of San Jose Calif. , and Scott married to Maria, Studio City Calif. ; grandchildren, Jeneese and Jonathan Spruill; Steven, Giovanna and Alessandra Montoya; great grandchildren, JJ Spruill and numerous nieces and nephews.

Reuben served Roxbury Church of the Brethren for 20 years as Chair of the Board, Deacon and Choir Member. He participated in the Symphony Chorus, served 4 years at the United Farm workers under Cesar Chavez where he met his wife Claire. He enjoyed Jazz music, Traveling by train and Batman and Daffy Duck collector.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday May 14, at KENNEDY’S 219 Ohio St. Johnstown. Friends received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 15, at the funeral home with Rev. Brian Simmons, officiating.

Interment Grandview Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 155. Memorial contributions may be directed to Roxbury Church of the Brethren in his memory.
