Reverend C. L. Powers, age 87, of Rockmart, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. He was born October 25, 1931 in Carrollton, Ga. to the late Leonard and Lucille Laster Powers and was preceded in death by his former wife, Ruby Powers, brothers, Durwin, Frank, Bobby and Marion Powers, sister, Mary Powers.

He was the Pastor of Pine Ridge Methodist Church for twenty-three years and seven years helping with the transition to Baptist. He also worked at Hubbard Pants manufacturing company. He loved people, especially his family and church family.

Survivors include his wife, Diann Powers of Rockmart, GA; son, James & Margarete Powers of Carrollton, GA; daughter, Janice & Reverend Ricky Eaves of Bremen, GA; step-son, Bryan & Shawn Mauldin of Rockmart, GA; Step-daughter, Wendy & Tim Hornbuckle of Cartersville, GA; brother, Robert & Dianne Powers of Bremen, GA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 3 PM at Pine Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Toby Powers and Reverend Scott Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with Caleb Eaves, Bryan Mauldin, Tim Hornbuckle, Thomas Cochran, T.J, Cochran, Logan Martinez and Russell Golden serving as pallbearers and Robert Power, honorary pallbearer.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4PM until 8PM. Reverend Powers will also lie in state at the church on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 2 PM until service begins. In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to Pine Ridge Baptist Church, 125 Pine Ridge Church Road, Dallas, GA.
