Rev. Luann Edith Ketcham September 17, 1930 – January 16, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Luann Edith Ketcham ( Herndier) passed away on Wednesday January 16th, 2019 at age 88. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 17, 1930 to William and Lois (Brazee) Herndier, who predeceased her.

She graduated from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, MI and Lancaster Theological Seminary, where she received her Master of Divinity in preparation for her ordination to the Christian ministry in May of 1996. Luann served as President of the American Baptist Women of NYS and on the national board of American Baptist Women. She was Interim Co-pastor with her husband for American Baptist congregations in PA, RI and in Melvin Village, NH.

Luann was an accomplished organist, pianist, mezzo-soprano, music teacher and director of choirs. Her high expectations of herself and the musicians she worked with led to many amazing worship services and concerts. She loved the classical and romantic composers — and never did learn to like guitars or drums!

Luann is survived by her loving husband, Robert (Bob) Ketcham who was her primary caregiver for many years; her sons Jim (Jan Curtis) of Albany, NY and Don (Susan Varley Ketcham) of Monroe, NC; her grandson John Binh Ketcham, studying at Iowa State University; her sister Marilyn Brandt of Pescadero, CA; brother- and sister-in-law John and Carol West of Sacramento, as well as 4 nieces and a nephew. A memorial service will be held at Melvin Village Community Church on Saturday, January 19th, 2019 Pastor Kevin Van Brunt, presiding.
