Obituary for Rex Allen Kline Rex Allen Kline, 69, of Knightstown, passed Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born September 8, 1949 in Rush County, the son of Elmer Julian and Mildred (Gulley) Kline. Rex retired from Navistar Corporation in 2015 after 43 years of service.

A lifelong mechanic, he loved working on muscle cars and other various automobiles. He was a wounded veteran of the U.S. Army in Viet Nam and received a purple heart. Rex enjoyed working on cars, mowing, playing basketball and badminton, roller skating, swimming and spending time with his family.

He had a great sense of humor, never met a stranger and was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cathy “Jean” Kline of Knightstown; children, Chad Allen (Staci) Kline of Knightstown, Cory Ann (Aaron) Estelle of Markleville, Cody Andrew (Mary Beth) Kline of Greenfield, Cathyrn Ashley Kline of Knightstown; his mother: Mildred (Gulley) Kline of Carthage; ten grandchildren, Clayton Lee, Coleton Riley and Loren Barbara Ellen Estelle, Cailyn Alisa Kline, Chad Gibson, stationed with the U.S. Marine Corps in San Diego, Paige Chilcote, Elijah Daniel, Kenneth Andrew, Isaac Joel and Isabelle Sophia Kline; brothers, Joey (Nancy) Kline of Greenfield, Russ (Sharon) Kline of Carthage and Jeff (Shelly) Kline of rural Knightstown; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Julian Kline and son, Todd Aaron Kline.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Denny DeWitt officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Knightstown American Legion Post #152 and a contingent of the U.S. Army. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences and memories of Rex may be shared at www.
