Mr. Rex Howell age 76 of Centre passed away Thursday January 24th at Floyd Cherokee Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday January 27th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Pruitt officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will include David Puckett, Thomas Puckett, Terry Lindsey, Dan Deems, Jeremey Howell, and Keyton Abernathy. Survivors include son, Jeremy (Bridgette) Howell of Centre; daughter, Leanne (Heath) Laney of Leesburg; brother, Bob (Carolyn) Howell of Centre; sister, Joyce (Dale) Parker of Gaylesville; grandchildren, Ethan Laney, Kay Lee Howell, Jayda Howell, Keyton Abernathy and Devin Abernathy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Steele Howell. Mr. Howell was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Lamar Bruce and Hazel Lee Howell and was of the Baptist Faith. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made toward funeral expenses.
